Professional Service Industries, Inc. (Intertek-PSI) is a leading US-based provider of construction assurance, testing, and inspection in civil and commercial construction, offering services such as construction materials testing, geotechnical services, environmental engineering, industrial hygiene, and specialty testing. The Key Account Project Manager is a senior project delivery professional responsible for planning, coordinating, managing, and executing complex Architecture, Engineering, and Construction (AEC) projects and programs nationwide. This position provides leadership across all project development phases, including planning, design, procurement, construction, commissioning, and closeout. The ideal candidate has over 10 years of progressive AEC industry experience and a proven track record of managing projects with cumulative construction values exceeding $1 billion. This role requires managing large-scale, multidisciplinary project teams, delivering exceptional client service, and ensuring projects are completed safely, on schedule, within budget, and to quality standards. The position serves as the primary liaison between owners, developers, architects, engineers, contractors, consultants, regulatory agencies, and other stakeholders, ensuring successful project outcomes across a diverse portfolio of capital projects. The role will focus on Geotechnical Engineering, Environmental Consulting, and Construction Materials Testing, with potential involvement in Building Science Solutions, Product Testing, and Intertek's extended ATIC services. Approximately 25% of the time will be spent traveling to project sites and operational offices across the U.S.

Requirements

  • At least 10 years of relevant experience required, 20+ years of experience preferred.
  • Bachelor’s degree in related field required.
  • Must be self-motivated and assertive and have the ability to work independently in a fast-paced, multi-tasking environment with shifting priorities.
  • Possess excellent written and oral communication skills and superior presentation skills.
  • Possess excellent interpersonal skills.
  • Must possess strong organizational and time management skills.
  • Working knowledge of computer systems (i.e. Microsoft Office) is essential.
  • Experience working with diverse teams (engineering, operations, marketing) is preferred.
  • Business to business sales experience is preferred.
  • Must possess valid driver’s license.
  • Ability to travel approximately 25% of the time.
  • Physical dexterity/mobility to travel via car, airplane and perform all clerical functions inherent to the position.

Responsibilities

  • Lead the planning, execution, monitoring, and successful delivery of major capital projects and programs throughout the United States.
  • Manage projects through all phases, including: Programming, Planning, Feasibility studies, Design, Procurement, Construction, Commissioning, Occupancy and closeout.
  • Develop project execution plans, schedules, budgets, and risk management strategies.
  • Ensure alignment of project objectives with client goals and organizational priorities.
  • Maintain accountability for project performance regarding scope, budget, schedule, quality, and safety.
  • Coordinate multidisciplinary architecture, engineering, and construction teams throughout project delivery.
  • Review design progress to ensure alignment with project objectives, budget constraints, and operational requirements.
  • Manage design reviews, value engineering initiatives, constructability analyses, and design risk assessments.
  • Oversee construction activities and monitor contractor performance throughout execution.
  • Promote collaboration among all project participants to drive successful outcomes.
  • Develop and maintain project budgets and cost-control procedures.
  • Monitor expenditures, commitments, forecasts, and contingency utilization.
  • Evaluate and negotiate change orders and scope modifications.
  • Ensure effective financial reporting and project controls are maintained.
  • Identify cost-saving opportunities while preserving project quality and performance objectives.
  • Establish and maintain master project schedules.
  • Monitor critical path activities and major project milestones.
  • Implement schedule recovery plans when necessary.
  • Coordinate planning efforts among design consultants, contractors, suppliers, and stakeholders.
  • Ensure timely project completion through proactive management and issue resolution.
  • Identify project risks and develop mitigation strategies.
  • Conduct regular project risk assessments.
  • Manage project issues, claims, disputes, and change management processes.
  • Ensure compliance with contractual requirements and industry standards.
  • Minimize project disruptions through proactive planning and stakeholder engagement.
  • Ensure adherence to established quality management standards.
  • Monitor project compliance with: Building codes, Regulatory requirements, Industry standards, Client specifications, Contract requirements.
  • Support quality audits, inspections, testing, and commissioning activities.
  • Drive continuous improvement initiatives across projects.
  • Promote a culture of safety and operational excellence.
  • Support implementation of project-specific safety plans and compliance programs.
  • Monitor safety performance and corrective action initiatives.
  • Collaborate with contractors and project teams to ensure safe working environments.
  • Lead multidisciplinary project teams across multiple geographic locations across the Geotechnical, Environmental, and Construction Services service lines.
  • Mentor project engineers, assistant project managers, design managers, construction managers, and project coordinators.
  • Encourage professional growth, teamwork, collaboration, and accountability.
  • Foster a high-performance culture focused on project success and client satisfaction.
