About The Position

Responsible for managing and further developing business with all assigned Polymer Additives Business Unit (PLA) customers within the territory and Key Accounts. This includes the commercial management of accounts, negotiation of contracts, product pricing, service levels, and payment terms with both new and existing customers. The role involves developing strong interpersonal and trusting customer relationships with key contacts at assigned accounts, as well as developing new relationships at all levels within the assigned territory, including management, technology, operations, and procurement. The Key Account Manager will also develop senior-level customer relationships to strengthen and grow business for PLA and Lanxess. Additionally, the role requires providing market intelligence and insights from assigned customers to help the global PLA Commercial team understand regional and global market trends. This information, along with details on market intelligence, product applications, competitive activity, and customer demand, will be communicated through Visit Reports, MS Teams meetings, and emails. The position also involves working with Customer Service and Supply Chain to ensure accurate monthly forecasts, minimizing working capital, and increasing customer service performance. A broad knowledge of the entire PLA portfolio, product applications, markets, and customer needs is essential to support the PLA business.

Requirements

  • BA degree minimum
  • 5-10 years in a similar role
  • Advanced Account Management skills
  • Requires strong computer skills - proficiency in Microsoft Word, Excel, and PowerPoint, SAP, IBP, & CRM
  • Strong Marketing knowledge - Price assembly / Margin calculation

  • BS degree in technical discipline such as chemistry or engineering preferred.

Responsibilities

  • Work with Customer Service and Supply Chain to ensure PLA receives accurate monthly forecasts and as a result of these forecasts, minimizes workingin capital and increases customer service performance.
  • Develop a broad knowledge of the entire PLA portfolio, product applications, markets, and the needs of customers, in order to support PLA business.
