Christmas Kettle Worker in Fairbanks, AK

Salvation Army Careers•Fairbanks, AK

About The Position

Kettle Workers support The Salvation Army’s Christmas fundraising efforts by ringing bells at assigned store locations. They serve as the first point of public contact for the campaign, greeting and interacting with patrons in a courteous, friendly, and positive manner while providing Christmas cheer and, within reason, guarding the Red Kettle. Workers must follow Salvation Army and partner-business policies, dress appropriately for the weather, and relieve the preceding worker or volunteer promptly. The position is temporary and non-exempt, and reports to the Corps Officer. The Salvation Army’s mission is to preach the gospel of Jesus Christ and meet human needs in His name without discrimination. Employees acknowledge and understand the organization’s religious purpose and agree that their work-related conduct must not conflict with or undermine its religious programs or purposes. The role requires completing Kettle Worker training and the Protect the Mission online course, passing required background checks, communicating comfortably with diverse individuals, and being able to perform the essential duties with or without reasonable accommodation. The Salvation Army is an Equal Opportunity Employer and states that it is committed to a respectful workplace free from unlawful discrimination and harassment.
