About The Position

This position is responsible for recruiting, training, coordinating, and monitoring the work of employee and volunteer bell ringers to ensure ample staff to meet location needs. The role involves preparing records and reports related to the kettle program.

Requirements

• Ability to meet attendance requirements.
• Ability to read, write, and communicate the English language.
• Duties include extensive driving to and from kettle locations 50-75% of work time.
• Limited amount of physical effort required associated with walking, standing, lifting and carrying equipment (less than 40 lbs.) 5-10% of work time.
• Work is performed in and out of the office and in a wide variety of weather conditions.
• Valid Driver’s License.

Nice To Haves

• One year experience working with kettle fund raising programs preferred.
• Any equivalent combination of training and experience which provides the required knowledge, skills, and abilities.

Responsibilities

• Interviews, recruits, screens and selects bell ringing staff and volunteers, ensuring all sites are covered effectively.
• Plans, schedules, and assigns work of staff and volunteers; instructs in proper methods and procedures; checks and approves work in progress and upon completion to ensure accuracy, completeness, and compliance with Salvation Army policies and procedures.
• Maintains contact with staff and volunteers throughout their service, answering questions, concerns, or problems; recognizes workers through correspondence.
• Prepares and maintains up-to-date records and databases for daily kettle income information; prepares reports regarding the status of the kettle program; provides staff and volunteers with documentation of hours worked.
• Plans, coordinates, and prepares special events; prepares plaques and certificates of recognition; prepares and maintains special event records for future reference.
• Meets with community leaders and organizations to discuss Salvation Army needs.
• Drives Salvation Army vehicle(s) to deliver and collect kettles and supplies to kettle locations and workers.
• Assists with counting, recording, and depositing of kettle funds.
