About The Position

The Kettle Coordinator is responsible for recruiting, training, coordinating, and monitoring employee and volunteer bell ringers to ensure adequate staffing for all locations. This role involves managing the kettle program, maintaining records, preparing reports, and coordinating special events. The position also includes driving Salvation Army vehicles to deliver and collect kettles and supplies, and assisting with the counting, recording, and depositing of kettle funds.

Requirements

  • High School or G.E.D.
  • One year experience working with kettle fund raising programs preferred OR any equivalent combination of training and experience which provides the required knowledge, skills, and abilities.
  • Knowledge of volunteer recruitment methods and practices.
  • Ability to follow instructions and work with limited supervision.
  • Ability to prepare accurate and complete records and reports.
  • Ability to build and maintain effective working relationships with volunteers and staff.
  • Ability to lead, motivate, and evaluate the work of volunteers and staff.
  • Ability to maintain volunteer and financial database.
  • Valid Driver’s License
  • Ability to meet attendance requirements.
  • Ability to read, write, and communicate the English language.

Responsibilities

  • Interviews, recruits, screens, and selects bell ringing staff and/or volunteers ensuring all sites are covered effectively.
  • Plans, schedules, and assigns work of staff and/or volunteers; instructs in proper methods and procedures; checks and approves work in progress and upon completion to ensure accuracy and completeness as well as compliance with policies.
  • Maintains contact with staff and volunteers throughout their service; answers questions, concerns, or problems; recognizes workers through correspondence by mail, in person or by phone.
  • Prepares and maintains up-to-date records and databases for daily kettle income information; prepares reports regarding the status of the kettle program; provides staff and volunteers with documentation of the hours worked.
  • Plans, coordinates, and prepares special events; prepares plaques and certificates of recognition; prepares and maintains special event records for future reference.
  • Drives Salvation Army vehicle(s) to deliver and collect kettles and supplies to kettle locations and workers.
  • Assists with counting, recording, and depositing of kettle funds.
  • Performs work for special projects as needed.
  • Performs other related work as required.
