About The Position

The Christmas Kettle Coordinator is responsible for recruiting, training, coordinating, and monitoring employee and volunteer bell ringers to ensure adequate staffing for kettle locations. This role involves preparing records and reports related to the kettle program. The position requires a high school diploma or GED and one year of experience with kettle fundraising programs, or an equivalent combination of training and experience. A valid driver's license is also required. The role operates within the mission and Christian principles of The Salvation Army.

Requirements

  • Ability to meet attendance requirements.
  • Ability to read, write, and communicate the English language.
  • Ability to perform all duties with an understanding of the mission, ministry, philosophy, culture, and protocol of The Salvation Army and conducts all duties in accordance with the ministry of the organization and its Christian principles; conducts all communications and job duties with the highest level of professionalism.
  • Valid Driver’s License

Nice To Haves

  • One year experience working with kettle fund raising programs preferred.
  • Any equivalent combination of training and experience which provides the required knowledge, skills, and abilities.

Responsibilities

  • Interviews, recruits, screens, and selects bell ringing staff and volunteers to ensure all sites are covered effectively.
  • Plans, schedules, and assigns work of staff and volunteers, instructing them in proper methods and procedures.
  • Checks and approves work in progress and upon completion to ensure accuracy, completeness, and compliance with Salvation Army policies and procedures.
  • Maintains contact with staff and volunteers throughout their service, addressing questions, concerns, or problems.
  • Recognizes workers through correspondence (mail, in person, or phone).
  • Prepares and maintains up-to-date records and databases for daily kettle income information.
  • Prepares reports regarding the status of the kettle program.
  • Provides staff and volunteers with documentation of hours worked.
  • Plans, coordinates, and prepares special events.
  • Prepares plaques and certificates of recognition.
  • Prepares and maintains special event records for future reference.
  • Meets with community leaders and organizations to discuss Salvation Army needs.
  • Drives Salvation Army vehicle(s) to deliver and collect kettles and supplies to kettle locations and workers.
  • Assists with counting, recording, and depositing of kettle funds.
