About The Position

The Christmas Kettle Coordinator is responsible for recruiting, training, coordinating, and monitoring employee and volunteer bell ringers to ensure adequate staffing for kettle locations. This role involves interviewing, screening, and selecting staff and volunteers, planning and scheduling their work, and ensuring compliance with Salvation Army policies. The coordinator will maintain contact with staff and volunteers, address their concerns, and recognize their contributions. Additionally, the position requires maintaining records of kettle income, preparing reports on the kettle program's status, and providing documentation of hours worked to staff and volunteers.

Requirements

  • High School or G.E.D.
  • One year experience working with kettle fund raising programs preferred.
  • Valid State Driver’s License

Responsibilities

  • Recruits, trains, coordinates, and monitors the work of employee and volunteer bell ringers.
  • Ensures ample staff to meet location needs.
  • Prepares records and reports regarding bell ringer activities.
  • Interviews, recruits, screens, and selects bell ringing staff and volunteers.
  • Ensures all sites are covered effectively.
  • Plans, schedules, and assigns work of staff and volunteers.
  • Instructs staff and volunteers in proper methods and procedures.
  • Checks and approves work in progress and upon completion for accuracy, completeness, and compliance with Salvation Army policies and procedures.
  • Maintains contact with staff and volunteers throughout their service.
  • Answers questions, concerns, or problems from staff and volunteers.
  • Recognizes workers through correspondence by mail, in person, or by phone.
  • Prepares and maintains up-to-date records and databases for daily kettle income information.
  • Prepares reports regarding the status of the kettle program.
  • Provides staff and volunteers with documentation of the hours worked.
