About The Position

The Salvation Army, an internationally recognized non-profit, faith-based organization, has a job opening for a Kettle Coordinator for the Alabaster Corp, located in Alabaster, AL. This is a seasonal position. The Kettle Coordinator recruits, trains, coordinates, and monitors the work of employee and volunteer bell ringers ensuring ample staff to meet location needs; prepares records and reports regarding the same.

Requirements

• Knowledge of volunteer recruitment methods and practices
• Ability to follow instructions and work with limited supervision
• Ability to prepare accurate and complete records and reports
• Ability to build and maintain effective working relationships with volunteers and staff
• High School Diploma or G.E.D.
• One-year experience working with kettle fund raising programs preferred
• Valid Driver’s License
• Ability to meet attendance requirements
• Ability to read, write, and communicate the English language

Responsibilities

• Recruits, trains, coordinates, and monitors the work of employee and volunteer bell ringers ensuring ample staff to meet location needs
• Prepares records and reports regarding the same
• Maintain volunteer and financial database
• Extensive driving to and from kettle locations, 50-75% of work time
• Lifting and carrying equipment (less than 40 lbs.) 5-10% of work time
