About The Position

This position is responsible for coordinating the operations of the Annual Red Kettle Campaign, ensuring that kettles are assigned to approved retail locations and staffed with Bell ringers. The role involves training paid Bell Ringers, supervising Kettle Drivers, creating delivery routes, reporting on hours and donations, driving Salvation Army vehicles, and assisting with counting and depositing kettle funds.

Requirements

  • Ability to meet attendance requirements.
  • Ability to read, write, and communicate the English language.
  • Extensive driving to and from kettle locations 50-75% of work time.
  • Limited amount of physical effort required associated with walking, standing, lifting and carrying equipment (less than 40 lbs.) 5-10% of work time.
  • Work is performed in and out of the office and in a wide variety of weather conditions.

Nice To Haves

  • High School or G.E.D. and one year experience working with kettle fund raising programs preferred.
  • Any equivalent combination of training and experience which provides the required knowledge, skills, and abilities.

Responsibilities

  • Coordinates the operations of the Annual Red Kettle Campaign, ensuring that kettles are assigned to approved retail locations and staffed with Bell ringers.
  • Trains paid Bell Ringers in proper Bell Ringing methods and procedures.
  • Supervises Kettle Drivers, ensuring they are following safety protocols and procedures.
  • Creates the drivers’ routes for the pick-up and delivery of kettles and kettle supplies, as well as transporting some paid Bell Ringers.
  • Report hours and kettle donations regularly to comply with The Salvation Army’s required statistical reporting requirements.
  • Drives Salvation Army vehicle(s) to deliver and collect kettles and supplies to kettle locations and Bell Ringers.
  • Assists with counting, recording, and depositing of kettle funds.
