About The Position

This position is responsible for recruiting, training, coordinating, and monitoring the work of employees and volunteer bell ringers to ensure ample staff to meet location needs. The Kettle Coordinator prepares records and reports, and drives a Salvation Army vehicle to transport kettle workers and pick up kettles. The role involves interviewing, recruiting, screening, and selecting bell ringing staff and volunteers, planning and scheduling their work, and instructing them in proper methods and procedures. The Coordinator maintains contact with staff and volunteers, addresses their concerns, and recognizes their contributions. A key responsibility also includes assisting with counting, recording, and depositing kettle funds. The work environment is varied, both in and out of the office, and in a wide range of weather conditions, requiring appropriate dress for safety and comfort. The position requires the ability to follow instructions, work with limited supervision, prepare records and reports, build effective working relationships, lead and motivate staff and volunteers, and set up/break down materials at events.

Requirements

  • High school diploma or G.E.D.
  • Ability to follow instructions and work with limited supervision.

  • Valid Driver’s License

Nice To Haves

  • One year experience working with kettle fund raising programs preferred
  • Any equivalent combination of training and experience which provides the required knowledge, skills, and abilities.

Responsibilities

  • Interviews, recruits, screens and selection of bell ringing staff and volunteers ensuring all sites are covered effectively.
  • Plans, schedules, and assigns work of staff and volunteers; instructs in proper methods and procedures; checks and approves work in progress and upon completion to ensure accuracy and completeness as well as compliance with Salvation Army policies and procedures.
  • Maintains contact with staff and volunteers throughout their service; answers questions, concerns or problems, recognizes workers through correspondence by mail, in person or by phone.
  • Assists with counting, recording and depositing of kettle funds.
  • Drives Salvation Army vehicle to drive kettle workers to and from locations and/or pick up kettles.
