About The Position

The Kentucky Department of Education (KDE) Office of Career and Technical Education (OCTE) operates 50 Area Technology Centers (ATCs) which serve 115 local feeder districts. A state Area Technology Center (ATC) is a secondary state operated school facility dedicated to the primary purpose of offering state approved four (4)- course Career and Technical Education (CTE) pathways within CTE program areas identified by the OCTE. The Area Technology Centers under the Office of Career and Technical Education are organizationally part of the Kentucky Department of Education (KDE), a service agency within the Commonwealth of Kentucky under the Education and Workforce Development Cabinet. OUR CORE VALUES: Equity Achievement Collaboration Integrity The Jackson County Area Technology Center in McKee, KY is looking for a Health Science Instructor who is dedicated, knowledgeable, and passionate about making a meaningful difference in the lives of students. Requirements

  • Must hold the Rank III Kentucky teaching certificate in the subject area to be taught; OR Must hold a Kentucky Statement of Eligibility in the subject area to be taught; OR Four years of appropriate work experience, two of which must be in the last five years.
  • Requires current RN license and one-year long-term care experience obtained in an approved skilled nursing facility or distinct part (SNF or NF) long-term care unit as defined in Federal Regulations Part 483 – Requirements for State and Long-Term Care Facilities.

Responsibilities

  • Teaches occupational preparatory classes within a career and technical education program.
  • Performs other duties as required.
