About The Position

The Kentucky Department of Education (KDE) Office of Career and Technical Education (OCTE) operates 50 Area Technology Centers (ATCs) which serve 115 local feeder districts. A state Area Technology Center (ATC) is a secondary state operated school facility dedicated to the primary purpose of offering state approved four (4)- course Career and Technical Education (CTE) pathways within CTE program areas identified by the OCTE. The Area Technology Centers under the Office of Career and Technical Education are organizationally part of the Kentucky Department of Education (KDE), a service agency within the Commonwealth of Kentucky under the Education and Workforce Development Cabinet. KDE supports the ATCs through guidance, resources, and oversight as part of its broader mission to ensure success for every student in Kentucky’s P-12 public education system. This position is advertised as part of KRS Chapter 156 OCTE for employment through the Office of Career and Technical Education. Requirements

  • Applicants must hold one of the following: Kentucky Vocational Principal's Certificate or Kentucky statement of Eligibility for Vocational Principal; OR Kentucky Secondary Principal's Certificate or Kentucky Statement of Eligibility for Secondary Principal, or a valid Kentucky Certificate for Career & Technical Education; OR Kentucky Department of Education Vocational Technical School Certificate in Administration, Supervision, and Coordination (issued prior to 1988) OR Has completed all coursework requirements and will receive a Kentucky Vocational Principal's Certificate or a Kentucky Secondary Principal's Certificate within one year of initial hire date.

  • Provide overall management and supervision of personnel, programs and curriculum development in a secondary vocational education center.
