Pet Care Specialist
About The Position
Barkaritaville Pet Resort in Corpus Christi is hiring Full-Time and Part-Time Kennel Attendants to help deliver top-notch care to the pets entrusted to them. This role is ideal for individuals passionate about animals, seeking either a long-term career or part-time meaningful work. The position requires dependable, energetic individuals who can work hard, take initiative, and prioritize pet well-being. As a Kennel Attendant, the primary role is to ensure the comfort, cleanliness, safety, and happiness of dogs staying at the facility. This involves engaging with dogs of all sizes and personalities and maintaining a clean and organized environment. The job is physically active, requiring bending, lifting, walking, and being on your feet for most of the shift, and involves working both indoors and outdoors in varying weather conditions.
Requirements
- Dependable, energetic individuals
- Ability to work hard, take initiative, and put pets first
- Weekend and holiday availability is required (must work at least alternating weekends and holidays)
- Ability to follow safety procedures and handle pets responsibly
- Comfortable working in a fast-paced environment
- Professional appearance and communication
- High school diploma or equivalent
Nice To Haves
- Previous pet care, hospitality, or customer service experience is a plus
Responsibilities
- Feeding, walking, and bathing pets
- Monitoring behavior and reporting any concerns
- Cleaning and sanitizing suites, yards, and common areas
- Scooping waste, mopping, vacuuming, and doing laundry
- Assisting with check-ins and check-outs
- Occasionally giving facility tours and updating pet records in our system
- Working both indoors and outdoors in varying weather conditions including heat, humidity, and rain
