About The Position

The Keck Center is seeking part-time assistants for Federal Work-Study students. There are two types of positions available: one with a Biology focus and two with a Computer Science focus (or Computer Science/BME interest). The Biology assistant will work with cells and tissue imaging using advanced microscopy systems. The Computer Science assistants will be involved in website administration and data analysis. Training will be provided for all positions. The University of Virginia is an equal opportunity employer.

Requirements

  • Current UVA undergraduate student eligible for Federal-Work Study employment during the academic year.
  • Resume required.
  • Limited experience using computers in the administration of web site and data analysis is required (for Computer Science focus).
  • Must be eligible for Federal Work-Study.

Nice To Haves

  • No experience is required and training will be provided (for Biology focus).
  • Working knowledge using computers in the administration of web site and data analysis is preferred (for Biology focus).
  • 1st or 2nd year students are preferred (for both Biology and Computer Science focus).
  • Computer Science focus or both computer or BME focused interest (for two positions).

Responsibilities

Benefits

  • Wages of $13.00 to $17.00 per hour.
