About The Position

Kings Valley Charter School is seeking individuals to work with K-8th students by leading or assisting with summer camps as part of their K-8 Summer Learning Program. This program will run from July 27th to August 14th, Monday through Friday, from 9 am to 3 pm. The program structure includes morning literacy instruction and afternoon enrichment and camp-style activities. Enrichment activities are designed to intentionally incorporate literacy components through discussion, vocabulary, writing, and reflection.

Requirements

• Must have patience to handle student needs.

Nice To Haves

• Appropriate certifications, such as an archery instructor certification.
• Knowledge of the technical aspects of camp activities.
• Experience working in camps with K-8th students.
• Strong communication skills.

Responsibilities

• Provide a positive camp environment for KVCS students and be a positive role model.
• Lead or assist with the skills necessary for successful performance.
• Monitor student behavior during camps.
• Take necessary and reasonable precautions to protect students, equipment, materials, and facilities.
• Uphold and enforce school rules and policies as described in the school handbook and summer camp behavior contract.
• Attend all scheduled events and meetings.
