About The Position

Bromley East Charter School is seeking a Culturally and Linguistically Diverse (CLD) Teacher to support teachers and students. Since 2001, Bromley East Charter School has promoted choice, critical thinking, problem-solving, and character development of the whole child, enabling students to achieve academic excellence in a safe environment. This is a hands-on, full-time position with day-to-day duties that include designing engaging lessons and developing Individualized Education Plans (IEPs) to support language acquisition for second language learners. Responsibilities include monitoring student progress, guiding English Language Learners (ELL) to meet their academic and socio-emotional needs, and ensuring access to resources. The position also requires maintaining a safe learning environment, effective communication with parents, compliance with educational regulations, and collaboration with educators and parents to integrate language strategies into classroom and home settings.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree in Education, Linguistics, or related fields required.
  • A valid Colorado state ESL or ELL teaching license is required.
  • Advanced expertise in instructional methodologies tailored for English language learners.
  • Intermediate skill in leveraging educational technology and digital learning platforms.
  • Advanced communication and interpersonal abilities.
  • Advanced proficiency in analyzing complex problems and crafting comprehensive solutions.
  • Adaptable teaching styles to cater to diverse student populations.
  • Advanced problem-solving skills to tailor interventions and techniques to the unique needs of each student.
  • Advance organizational skills for efficient caseload management and documentation.
  • Intermediate ability to work independently and collaboratively within a multidisciplinary team.

Nice To Haves

  • Master's degree or higher preferred.
  • 1+ years of experience working as an ELL teacher or in a similar role preferred.

Responsibilities

  • Design and deliver engaging lessons that facilitate language acquisition.
  • Develop and implement Individualized Education Plans (IEPs) with measurable objectives, utilizing evidence-based interventions.
  • Employ diverse pedagogical techniques tailored to the needs of second language learners.
  • Collaborate with fellow educators to enhance English language development across various subjects.
  • Monitor and document students' progress towards the objectives outlined in their Individualized Education Plans (IEPs).
  • Provide guidance to English Language Learner (ELL) students, addressing their unique academic and socio-emotional needs.
  • Ensure students have access to necessary resources and accommodation.
  • Refer students to additional services, such as speech therapy or counseling, when required.
  • Maintain a safe, organized, and dynamic learning environment.
  • Communicate effectively with parents and guardians regarding student progress and school programs.
  • Ensure compliance with federal, state, and local regulations concerning special education and physical therapy services.
  • Participate in professional development opportunities and staff meetings as required.
  • Maintain comprehensive records of students' progress and adjust treatment plans as necessary.
  • Collaborate with teachers and parents/guardians to integrate speech-language strategies into classroom and home settings.
  • Assist with other duties as assigned.
