The K-8 Principal uses leadership, supervisory, and administrative skills to empower and develop staff, creating a culture of student and staff learning. This role involves collaborating with all stakeholders to develop the school's vision, mission, and goals, aligning them with the District's objectives. The Principal is responsible for facilitating the school improvement plan, using data to monitor progress, and ensuring academic growth for all students. This includes overseeing the instructional program, ensuring adherence to district standards and curriculum, and differentiating instruction to meet diverse student needs. The position also focuses on providing access to student activities that support holistic growth and ensuring students have access to mental, physical, and emotional wellness services. Staff evaluation, recruitment, hiring, and professional development are key responsibilities, as is fostering a culture of collaboration, trust, and high expectations. The Principal manages the organization, operations, and resources to ensure a safe, efficient, and effective learning environment, aligning human, fiscal, and technological resources with district and school goals. Adherence to federal, state, and district policies, maintaining student conduct standards, and ensuring a safe learning environment through crisis and behavior plans are also critical.
