About The Position
Huntington Learning Center is seeking part-time teachers for in-person and online positions in Plainfield. The ideal candidate will be caring, qualified, and committed to student success. Since 1977, Huntington Learning Center has been a leader in educational services, largely due to its dedicated tutors who are passionate about helping children succeed. This role offers the opportunity to help children aged 5 to 17 achieve their academic goals in subjects like Reading, Writing, Mathematics, Study Skills, Phonics, Vocabulary, Science, Test Prep, High School Entrance Exam preparation, and SAT/PSAT & ACT preparation. Tutors receive intensive initial and ongoing training in Huntington's teaching methods and curriculum. This position allows you to focus on teaching without the burden of lesson planning or grading homework. It's a chance to gain valuable experience, enhance your resume, and earn money in a flexible environment with after-school, weekend, and summer hours.
Requirements
- Bachelor’s degree required.
- Must be a caring and qualified professional committed to the success of students.
Nice To Haves
- Teaching Certification is a plus, but not required.
Responsibilities
- Provide tutoring in Reading, Writing, Mathematics, Study Skills, Phonics, Vocabulary, Science, Test Prep, High School Entrance Exam preparation, and SAT/PSAT & ACT preparation for students aged 5 to 17.
- Utilize Huntington's teaching methods and curriculum.
- Focus on direct student interaction without lesson planning or homework grading.
