About The Position

Tutor Doctor is seeking experienced educators to work with K-12 students across San Francisco. This role involves tutoring in reading, math, executive functioning skills, and test prep. Tutors will be responsible for reading and interpreting student assessment results to identify learning gaps and inform instruction. They will apply targeted strategies based on these findings, aligning instruction with school curriculum while tailoring it to individual student needs. Progress tracking and consistent communication with families and the Tutor Doctor team are also key responsibilities. Special education teachers are strongly encouraged to apply due to their expertise in individualized instruction and diverse learning profiles. Tutor Doctor handles all client matching, scheduling, and billing, allowing tutors to focus on teaching. Tutors have the flexibility to accept or decline offered matches. The company is locally owned and operated in San Francisco, with a credentialed educator overseeing tutor matches.

Requirements

  • 3+ years of professional teaching or tutoring experience
  • Bachelor's degree required
  • Ability to read and act on formal student assessment data
  • Must live in San Francisco
  • Comfortable traveling to different neighborhoods across the city for student sessions
