About The Position

We're seeking an experienced K-12 Education Construction Superintendent based in the Charlotte, NC area who is willing to travel throughout North Carolina and neighboring states. This role is ideal for a construction leader with a proven history of serving as the Lead Superintendent on large, complex projects, not simply as part of a larger field team. We are particularly interested in candidates with experience delivering projects in K-12 Education in either the Charlotte, NC, Raleigh, NC or Greenville, SC areas. The ideal candidate combines strong technical construction expertise with exceptional leadership, safety awareness, and relationship-building skills to drive successful project outcomes from start to finish. They will also have a base of strong subcontractor contacts and positive reviews from the school districts they've served.

Requirements

  • Demonstrated success serving as the Lead Superintendent on large commercial construction projects.
  • Experience in the following markets: K-12 Education, Higher Education
  • Strong knowledge of construction means and methods, sequencing, scheduling, and quality control.
  • Proven ability to lead subcontractors and coordinate multiple trades in fast-paced environments.
  • Exceptional safety leadership and commitment to maintaining a safe, productive jobsite.
  • Strong communication, organizational, and problem-solving skills.
  • Ability and willingness to travel throughout North Carolina and neighboring states as project needs require.
  • A reputation for professionalism, accountability, and building strong relationships with project teams and clients.

Responsibilities

  • Lead all field operations from mobilization through project closeout on large and complex construction projects.
  • Serve as the primary field leader, directing project execution, site logistics, schedule coordination, quality control, and safety performance.
  • Build and maintain strong relationships with owners, architects, engineers, subcontractors, inspectors, and local authorities.
  • Manage and hold subcontractors accountable to scope, schedule, quality, and safety expectations.
  • Foster a culture of safety, ensuring compliance with company standards and regulatory requirements.
  • Coordinate work activities across multiple trades while proactively identifying and resolving field challenges.
  • Collaborate closely with Project Managers and project stakeholders to ensure clear communication and successful project delivery.
  • Mentor and develop field staff while promoting teamwork, accountability, and operational excellence.
