About The Position

As a Juvenile Facility Security Officer - Screener in Columbia, SC, you will serve and safeguard clients in a range of industries such as Government, and more. Requirements

  • A valid driver’s license is required in the state where the job is located.
  • Possess at least 6 months of security-related experience.
  • Be at least 21 years of age.
  • Possess a high school diploma or equivalent.
  • As a condition of employment, applicants will be subject to a background investigation in accordance with all federal, state, and local laws.
  • As a condition of employment, applicants will be subject to a drug screen to the extent permitted by law.
  • Licensing requirements are subject to state and/or local laws and regulations and may be required prior to employment.
  • A valid driver’s license will be required for driving positions only.

Nice To Haves

  • Access control and badge experience is preferred.
  • X-ray screening experience is preferred.

Responsibilities

  • Provide customer service to staff, visitors, vendors, and/or authorized personnel by carrying out site-specific access control procedures, identification verification, and entry and exit screening at a government location.
  • Monitor and document the movement of people, vehicles, and/or deliveries through designated access points, helping to deter unauthorized entry and reporting irregular activity to site leadership.
  • Respond to incidents, policy violations, and/or critical situations in a calm, problem-solving manner, following post orders and supporting emergency response activities when appropriate.
  • Conduct regular and random patrols of assigned buildings, grounds, and perimeter areas, remaining alert to security-related concerns, unsecured access points, and/or unusual conditions.
  • Prepare clear and accurate activity logs, visitor records, and incident reports, and communicate relevant information to Allied Universal leadership and/or designated site contacts.
