As an Access Control Officer at a government location, you will help manage entry points, verify credentials, monitor activity, and conduct routine patrols that help support a secure environment. This is a driving post. Requirements

  • A valid driver’s license is required in the state where the job is located.
  • COLA DPSS/DHS tuberculosis test and MMR vaccinations are required.
  • At least 6 months of security-related experience is required.
  • Be at least 21 years of age.
  • Possess a high school diploma or equivalent.
  • As a condition of employment, applicants will be subject to a background investigation in accordance with all federal, state, and local laws.
  • As a condition of employment, applicants will be subject to a drug screen to the extent permitted by law.
  • Licensing requirements are subject to state and/or local laws and regulations and may be required prior to employment.
  • A valid driver’s license will be required for driving positions only.

Responsibilities

  • Provide customer service to visitors, staff, and/or vendors by following site-specific access control procedures and applicable government location policies.
  • Monitor entry and exit points, verify identification and/or credentials, screen authorized persons and property as required, and help to deter unauthorized access.
  • Respond to incidents, disturbances, and/or critical situations in a calm, problem-solving manner, and communicate with site contacts and first responders when appropriate.
  • Document daily activities, visitor information, access-related events, and/or unusual occurrences through logs, reports, and other required records.
  • Conduct regular and random patrols around designated areas and perimeter locations, observing for policy violations, maintenance concerns, and other unusual conditions.
