As a Juvenile Corrections Security Officer - Patrol in Ridgeville, SC, you will serve and safeguard clients in a range of industries such as Government, and more. Requirements

  • A valid driver’s license is required in the state where the job is located.
  • COLA DPSS/DHS tuberculosis test and MMR vaccinations are required.
  • A minimum of 6 months of security-related experience is required.
  • Be at least 21 years of age.
  • Possess a high school diploma or equivalent.
  • As a condition of employment, applicants will be subject to a background investigation in accordance with all federal, state, and local laws.
  • As a condition of employment, applicants will be subject to a drug screen to the extent permitted by law.
  • Licensing requirements are subject to state and/or local laws and regulations and may be required prior to employment.
  • A valid driver’s license will be required for driving positions only.

Nice To Haves

  • Access control and badge experience is preferred.
  • Be at least 18 years of age for unarmed roles; 21+ years of age for armed roles.

Responsibilities

  • Provide customer service by carrying out security-related procedures, site-specific policies, and/or emergency response activities at a government location.
  • Monitor and control access points, verify credentials, screen visitors, and document entries and exits according to post orders and facility protocols.
  • Respond to incidents, disturbances, and/or critical situations in a calm, problem-solving manner, and communicate with site personnel and public officials as needed.
  • Support movement control by directing authorized staff, visitors, and vendors through designated entry procedures while following established access restrictions.
  • Conduct regular and random patrols around the location and perimeter, remaining alert to unusual activity and reporting security-related concerns promptly.
