Requirements

  • A valid driver’s license is required in the state where the job is located.
  • A current COLA DPSS/DHS tuberculosis test and MMR vaccinations are required.
  • Possess at least 6 months of security-related experience.
  • Be at least 21 years of age.
  • Possess a high school diploma or equivalent.
  • As a condition of employment, applicants will be subject to a background investigation in accordance with all federal, state, and local laws.
  • As a condition of employment, applicants will be subject to a drug screen to the extent permitted by law.
  • Licensing requirements are subject to state and/or local laws and regulations and may be required prior to employment.
  • A valid driver’s license will be required for driving positions only.

Responsibilities

  • Provide customer service by carrying out site-specific procedures, monitoring access points, and supporting security-related protocols for staff, visitors, and authorized personnel at a government location.
  • Verify identification, process visitor and contractor entry, maintain access records, and help to control movement through designated entrances and restricted areas in accordance with post orders.
  • Respond to incidents, policy concerns, and critical situations in a calm, problem-solving manner, and communicate observations to site contacts and/or emergency responders as appropriate.
  • Conduct regular and random patrols around the location and perimeter to help to identify unusual activity, unsecured areas, and conditions that may require follow-up.
  • Support intake and screening procedures by observing arrivals, following established search and screening guidelines, and documenting security-related activities in required logs and reports.
