Requirements

  • Bachelor of Science in Civil Engineering with emphasis or concentration in water/wastewater
  • Working knowledge of Microsoft Word and Excel
  • Basic understanding or familiarity with AutoCAD and GIS
  • Understanding of hydraulics and pipe networks
  • Passionate about water/wastewater
  • Participation in professional societies (e.g. American Society of Civil Engineers, Water for People, Engineers Without Borders, etc.)
  • Possession of Engineer in Training (EIT) certificate
  • Desire to obtain a Professional Engineer license

Responsibilities

  • Work within a team of highly experienced and creative engineers to problem solve, analyze, and evaluate projects from planning through construction.
  • Assist with the planning and design of challenging drinking water, wastewater, and recycled water infrastructure, including: Drinking water infrastructure: wells, storage tanks, pipelines, pump stations, pressure reducing stations, and water treatment facilities. Wastewater infrastructure: wastewater treatment facilities, pump stations, and pipelines. Recycled water infrastructure: storage tanks, pipelines, pump stations, and pressure reducing stations.
  • Assist project engineers with other project tasks, such as: Analyzing and evaluating hydraulic calculations and hydraulic models. Performing research and field investigations. Analyzing and formulating technical documents and reports.
  • Coordinate with other disciplines for project development, including geotechnical engineering, land surveying, electrical engineering, and structural engineering.
  • Occasional field visits and inspections to assess infrastructure deficiencies, project progress, and problem solve issues
