About The Position

The Board of Education of Middlesex County Magnet Schools is currently accepting applications for Junior Varsity Cheerleading Coach for the 2026-2027 school year. Salary will be based on the Junior Varsity/Assistant Varsity Soccer Coaches salary guide in effect for the 2026-2027 school year. This position is appointed annually.

Requirements

• Holder of a New Jersey State Teacher's Certificate and/or a County Substitute's Certificate.
• Knowledgeable background in the sport as a player or coach in college or in high school.
• Certified in CPR/AED and Sports First Aid.
• If new to the profession, must register for the NFHS Coaching Principles Course within 120 days of employment.
• Familiar with AACCA School Cheer Safety Rules and AACCA Spirit Safety.
• Completed the "A Guide to Heat Acclimatization and Heat Illness Prevention" course.
• Completed the "Concussion in Sports � What you need to Know."
• Certifications need to be completed before the first day of the season.

Nice To Haves

• Three years of sub-varsity coaching preferred.
• Successful background in working with young people in a related sports field.

Responsibilities

• Full responsibility for the Junior Varsity team.
• Assist the Varsity Coach with athletic team activities such as practice, travel, and attendance at home and away games.
