Junior Test & Automation Electrical Engineer
About The Position
PDS Tech Commercial is hiring a Junior Test & Automation Electrical Engineer to support testing, integration, and commissioning of electrical and control systems for advanced electro-mechanical platforms. The role offers hands-on work validating control panels, investigating signal anomalies, troubleshooting electrical, software, and hardware issues, and using test data to recommend improvements to system performance and reliability. The engineer will work with instrumentation, sensors, PLCs, and data acquisition and automation tools in lab and production settings. They will interpret, update, and maintain electrical schematics and wiring diagrams while collaborating with a cross-functional team and learning from experienced senior engineers. The position is presented as a launchpad for recent graduates and early-career engineers, with mentorship, real hardware responsibility, and exposure to test and automation technologies.
Requirements
- Bachelor’s degree in Electrical Engineering.
- 0–2 years of experience; internships, co-ops, lab projects, or professional work are welcome.
- Strong troubleshooting mindset and systematic problem-solving approach.
- Ability to read electrical schematics and wiring diagrams.
- Interest in automation, controls, testing, and innovation.
- Proficiency in AC/DC, cRIO, GPIB, Python, PLC systems, PXI, and LabVIEW.
Responsibilities
- Support testing, integration, and commissioning of electrical and control systems for advanced electro-mechanical platforms.
- Diagnose and resolve electrical, software, and hardware issues across lab and production setups.
- Work hands-on with instrumentation, sensors, PLCs, and data acquisition and automation tools.
- Interpret, update, and maintain electrical schematics and wiring diagrams.
- Analyze test results and recommend improvements to system performance and reliability.
- Collaborate with a cross-functional team and learn best practices from experienced mentors.
