About The Position

Precision Pump & Valve (PPV), an MCE Company, is seeking a Valve Technician for their Lake Charles, LA facility. This role involves maintaining, repairing, and testing safety relief valves, control valves, tank vents, and related process equipment. The ideal candidate will be mechanically skilled, detail-oriented, and eager to build expertise in specialty valve service within the oil & gas, petrochemical, and refining industries.

Requirements

• Strong mechanical aptitude with hands-on experience in a shop or industrial environment.
• Ability to read and use precision measuring instruments accurately.
• Solid documentation skills; accurate, on-time job data entry.
• Problem-solving mindset; able to diagnose issues and work through them methodically.
• Ability to lift 50+ pounds and work in a shop environment (climbing, standing, reaching, bending, kneeling, stooping).

Nice To Haves

• Prior experience servicing valves, pumps, or process control equipment in oil & gas, petrochemical, or refining environments.
• Familiarity with safety relief valves, control valves, regulators, or related industrial equipment.
• Forklift certification or experience operating shop equipment.
• High school diploma or GED; technical training or vocational certification a plus.

Responsibilities

• Perform maintenance, repair, and testing of industrial valves including safety relief valves, control valves, tank vents, and related process control equipment.
• Clean, blast, and paint valve components to prepare for service and final inspection.
• Perform re-machining or lapping of critical valve parts to manufacturer specifications.
• Operate shop equipment including blasters, parts washers, torches, forklifts, and related tools safely and efficiently.
• Follow all safety and quality procedures.
• Read and use precision measuring devices accurately throughout inspection and repair work.
• Document and enter job data accurately into shop records to maintain complete, reliable service histories.
• Perform field service work at customer sites in the Gulf Coast region as needed.
