About The Position

Northstrat is seeking a highly motivated Junior Production Technician to build, test, and deliver systems for our production contract to produce and maintain space electronic warfare systems. The ideal candidate will be responsible for building, integrating, and testing systems ensuring compliance with quality assurance standards. Prefer experience manufacturing RF-based electronic systems. As a Junior Production Technician, you will be part of a team responsible for production support in our production factory. Tasks include regularly scheduled production activities involving the hands-on build-up and integration of electronic equipment, completion of acceptance tests, troubleshooting hardware and software issues, and packing and shipping of systems. Additional duties include administratively tracking production tasks and assets in our ticketing system for proper documentation, along with configuration management and test reports. In this role, you must maintain flexibility in mission expectations and requirements and be able to follow through on various tasks that are required to build, integrate, and test quality systems for delivery. The successful candidate will be expected to work on site in Northern Virginia with limited opportunities to work from home due to the hands-on nature of this position.

Requirements

  • High School Diploma and 3+ years of relevant experience.
  • Ability to work effectively in a team-oriented environment.
  • Ability to read and interpret test procedures and technical documents.
  • Physically able to lift, rack, and stack equipment following one-person, two-person, and lifting device safety recommendations.
  • Ability to work effectively under time constraints.
  • Basic troubleshooting skills in software loading, hardware, or network issues.
  • Excellent communication and organizational skills.
  • Effective verbal and written communication skills.
  • Attention to detail and a commitment to producing high-quality work.
  • Basic computer skills, including proficiency with Microsoft Office applications.

Nice To Haves

  • Previous experience in a manufacturing or production environment.
  • Basic understanding of production processes and RF test equipment.
  • Functional knowledge of ground systems capable of transmitting and receiving RF emissions.
  • Technical certification or training in a related field.
  • Experience working with ground terminal equipment.
  • Willingness to work flexible hours, including shifts and weekends if necessary.
  • Strong troubleshooting skills in software loading, hardware, and network issues.

Responsibilities

  • Coordinate with production, logistics, and facility managers on material availability, production schedule, delivery need dates, and steps throughout the production process.
  • Aid with production planning for multiple system designs.
  • Build and integrate electronic equipment.
  • Complete production checklists and acceptance test procedures in coordination with quality assurance.
  • Identify and help resolve problems with production goods.
  • Troubleshoot and resolve technical (hardware and software) issues as they occur in coordination with the engineering team as needed.
  • Escalate any hardware/software issues or system outages to leadership immediately.
  • Administratively track production tasks and assets in our ticketing system for proper documentation.
  • Manage and log the configuration of hardware and software.
  • Document production data and maintain accurate records.
  • Complete test reports and prepare for delivery.
  • Operate and monitor test equipment verifying calibrations are current to ensure data integrity.
  • Inspect intermediate and finished products for quality assurance/quality control and adherence to specifications.
  • Assist logistics team in teardown, packing, and shipping of systems.
  • Effectively manage time to support delivery need dates.
  • Collaborate with production team members to improve efficiency and productivity.
  • Maintain a clean and organized work environment.
  • Perform preventative maintenance checks and services.
  • Follow all safety protocols and procedures to ensure a safe working environment.
  • Assist in the setup and calibration of test equipment for new production runs.
  • Participate in continuous improvement initiatives and training programs.
