About The Position

Epic Scientific LLC is seeking a Technical Writer in Aberdeen, Maryland, for a full-time position supporting a government contract. The primary responsibility is maintaining an existing collection of software manuals so that they remain accurate, useful, and current as the software evolves through bi-weekly Agile development sprints. The work mainly involves reviewing existing documentation and making targeted updates, with additional contributions to training materials, user guides, and other documentation projects. After an onboarding period with guidance, this is a largely independent role. The writer manages their workload and assignments while collaborating with supervisors, developers, engineers, and other technical experts to verify details and resolve questions. Depending on available time, duties may also include assisting technical staff with reports, preparing hardware setup guides, and creating or editing other technical documents. Limited travel to CONUS military installations is available by choice, with standard per diem compensation. An active U.S. government Secret clearance is a preferred qualification, not a requirement to apply or begin work. Epic Scientific will sponsor necessary government vetting if classified access is eventually required. Standard U.S. personnel clearances generally require U.S. citizenship, and final eligibility is determined by the government.

  • Keep documentation clear, consistent, organized, and easy to follow.
  • Help create and maintain user guides, training materials, release notes, procedures, and related documents.
