About The Position

Reflexive Concepts is seeking a skilled Junior System Engineer to join our team! This role involves collaborating with the Lead System Engineer and development teams to implement cloud-based systems, focusing on functional and user acceptance testing (UAT). The engineer will manage requirements, develop test plans for cloud infrastructures (e.g., AWS), and participate in agile ceremonies. Key responsibilities include communicating a shared technical vision, troubleshooting cloud issues, and ensuring scalability, security, and compliance with industry standards.

Requirements

• Active TS/SCI security clearance with Full Scope (FS) Polygraph.
• A bachelor's degree in a technical discipline and seven (7) years of experience as a Systems Engineer in programs and contracts of similar scope, type, and complexity. Twelve (12) years of Systems Engineering experience may be substituted for a bachelor's degree.
• Experience with cloud technologies and testing methodologies.
• Understanding of and experience using the Atlassian Suite, such as Jira for issue tracking and project management, and Confluence for documentation and knowledge base management.
• Strong understanding of the software development lifecycle (SDLC), requirements elicitation, and compliance frameworks.
• Excellent communication skills, with the ability to articulate technical concepts to non-technical stakeholders and align teams around a unified architectural vision.

Nice To Haves

• Knowledge of functional testing frameworks (e.g., Selenium) and UAT processes in agile environments.
• Familiarity with cloud platforms (e.g., AWS) and tools for automation, CI/CD pipelines (e.g., Jenkins, GitLab), and test management.
• Certifications such as AWS Certified Solutions Architect – Associate, CompTIA Security+, or similar.

Responsibilities

• Collaborate closely with the Lead System Engineer and cross-functional development teams to facilitate the implementation of cloud-based systems, emphasizing functional testing and user acceptance testing (UAT) to verify system functionality and user experience.
• Manage requirements throughout the project lifecycle, ensuring alignment with business needs, regulatory compliance, and technical standards.
• Develop comprehensive test plans for installation, integration, and acceptance phases, including documenting, executing, and reporting test outcomes in cloud infrastructures (e.g., AWS).
• Participate in agile ceremonies, such as sprint planning and retrospectives, to provide systems engineering insights and support iterative improvements.
• Communicate a shared technical and architectural vision for solutions developed by product teams, bridging gaps between engineering, development, and stakeholders to foster cohesive system design and deployment.
• Assist in troubleshooting cloud system issues, optimizing configurations, and ensuring scalability, security, and compliance with industry standards (e.g., NIST, ISO, Section 508).
