Junior Software Development Engineer in Test
About The Position
As a Junior Software Development Engineer in Test, you will work with Systems Analysts and Development Teams to understand business, product, and system requirements. You will create, automate, and execute test cases, and build and/or modify automation frameworks in an AI-assisted development environment. You will maintain QA artifacts according to current standards, coordinate test execution, train users, and provide user support. The role offers experience with test automation tools, multi-tiered architectures, iterative and agile development methodologies, troubleshooting software and hardware configuration problems, and full-life-cycle development and quality processes. You will work alongside an experienced QA team and develop skills in automated testing architecture and framework development.
Requirements
- Bachelor’s degree or higher in Computer Science or a related discipline.
- Demonstrable proficiency in at least one of Java, JavaScript, or Python.
- Demonstrable knowledge of independently writing SQL queries.
- Excellent analytical, problem-solving, communication, and interpersonal skills.
Nice To Haves
- Previous exposure to Quality Assurance or financial trading environments.
- Previous exposure to AI tools.
Responsibilities
- Learn and work with test automation tools, including Cypress with JavaScript, Playwright, Selenium with Java and Python, and custom Python frameworks.
- Test multi-tiered architectures featuring Java and JavaScript, including extJS, JQuery, Oracle, and ReactJS.
- Gain experience with iterative and agile software development methodologies.
- Develop skills in troubleshooting software and hardware configuration problems.
- Work alongside an experienced QA team and develop critical testing skills.
- Develop a background in building automated testing architectures and frameworks.
- Participate in all aspects of a full-life-cycle development methodology and related quality concepts and processes.
- Understand business, product, and system requirements in collaboration with Systems Analysts and Development Teams.
