About The Position

MBP is seeking a Junior Scheduler to join their Project Controls team in the eastern United States. This role is ideal for an early-career construction professional with 2+ years of experience in project scheduling who is looking to grow their skills in CPM scheduling, schedule analysis, and project controls. The Junior Scheduler will support scheduling and project controls functions on various construction projects by working closely with project managers, clients, contractors, and other stakeholders. They will communicate schedule findings and technical information to diverse audiences, participate in project meetings, and contribute to decision-making through analysis and reporting.

Requirements

  • 2+ years of construction scheduling, project controls, or related construction experience preferred.
  • Supporting transportation projects, including roadway, bridge, rail, or other major infrastructure projects, is strongly preferred.
  • Developing and/or reviewing schedules for construction projects.
  • Using Oracle Primavera P6.
  • Microsoft Project is preferred.
  • Undergraduate degree in Construction Management, Engineering, Architecture, or a related field preferred.
  • Working knowledge of Critical Path Method (CPM) scheduling principles and techniques.
  • Understanding of construction sequencing and the reasonableness of a proposed plan.
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills with attention to detail.
  • Reviewing and interpreting construction drawings, specifications, and contract requirements.
  • Identifying schedule issues and clearly communicating their potential project impacts.
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills, including explaining technical scheduling concepts to non-technical audiences.
  • Managing multiple assignments and priorities while meeting project deadlines.
  • Developing and maintaining effective working relationships with clients, contractors, project managers, and team members.
  • Proficiency with Microsoft Office applications, including Excel, Word, and PowerPoint.
  • Interest in continued professional development in construction scheduling, project controls, risk, and delay analysis.
  • Applicants must be authorized to work in the U.S. without sponsorship.

Nice To Haves

Responsibilities

  • Perform technical reviews of contractor-submitted baseline schedules and periodic schedule updates to verify compliance with contract requirements, scheduling specifications, and overall reasonableness.
  • Assist with the development and maintenance of CPM baseline schedules and periodic schedule updates for construction projects.
  • Review schedule logic, activity durations, sequencing, constraints, critical and near-critical paths, float, progress, and milestone performance.
  • Analyze drawings, specifications, contracts, and statements of work to understand project scope, sequencing requirements, and contractual milestones.
  • Evaluate actual construction progress and field conditions relative to the approved schedule and planned sequence of work.
  • Identify and communicate schedule variances, emerging risks, and potential impacts to project milestones and completion.
  • Assist with the evaluation of changes and their potential impacts on the project schedule.
  • Assist with the development and/or review of time-extension requests and Time Impact Analyses (TIAs).
  • Support post-construction schedule and delay analyses.
  • Prepare clear schedule review comments, reports, graphics, and other project controls deliverables.
  • Participate in project meetings and site visits as needed.
  • Occasional overnight travel may be required.
