About The Position

The Junior Engineer will investigate, analyze, and deliver technical positions, and recommendation on engineering issues with oversight and direction. They can independently address tasking with some senior level guidance.

Requirements

Bachelor's Degree in Aerospace, Mechanical, Electrical, Chemical, Materials or any other related Engineering field
Experience in aviation propulsion and power input systems, including product development, material processing, testing, or closely related engineering disciplines
Basic understanding of manufacturing methods, mechanical systems, and materials as applied to aircraft engines and power input components
Some knowledge of process qualification, validation, and verification for propulsion system components and associated hardware
Advanced analytical skills with the ability to evaluate propulsion performance, reliability, and system integration challenges
Working knowledge of applicable military specifications and standards relevant to aviation propulsion and power systems preferred
Familiarity with one or more core manufacturing processes, including additive manufacturing, materials development, materials testing, and metal surface finishing, as applied to propulsion and power input hardware
Some experience in identifying, assessing, and managing Physical Requirements: While performing the duties of this job, the employee routinely is required to learn and apply new information and/or skills.
Must be able to interpret data, information, and documents.
Must be able to wear personal protective gear most of the day.
This is largely a sedentary role; this role routinely uses standard office equipment such as computers, phones, photocopiers, filing cabinets and fax machines.
Regularly works around moving mechanical parts and in outside conditions that include inclement weather, heat and humidity.
Noise level may be loud at times.

Responsibilities

Diagnose and resolve complex aircraft engine and propulsion system issues across competing technical constraints.
Develop and deliver optimized engineering solutions balancing performance, cost, schedule, and technology readiness.
Support integrated product teams to meet propulsion system requirements and customer objectives.
Provide technical guidance and mentorship to engineers and maintenance personnel.
Manage small-to-medium propulsion-related projects or defined program segments.
Conduct propulsion system readiness assessments, including risks, issues, and opportunities.
Develop and track mitigation plans to address propulsion system risks and performance gaps.
Support implementation of aircraft engine readiness goals and lifecycle sustainment strategies.
Translate readiness requirements into actionable processes, tools, and team deliverables.
Coordinate cross-functional efforts between engineering, maintenance, and program management teams.
Ensure compliance with applicable aerospace standards, safety requirements, and technical specifications.
Communicate technical findings, status, and recommendations clearly to stakeholders and leadership.
