About The Position

Andromeda Systems Incorporated (ASI) is seeking an Aircraft Propulsion Engineer capable of providing engineering and in-service support/troubleshooting expertise to support US DoD projects. This position is located in Jacksonville, Florida. Responsibilities: Provide direct maintenance, in-service engineering, and troubleshooting support to fleet operators and maintainers, including providing insight into how engines interface with other aircraft/rotorcraft subsystems Provide Liaison/MRB engineering assistance to repair activities in support of DoD platforms Physically inspect engine and propulsion system nonconformances and provide repair guidance to artisans Create reports that demonstrate all relevant design requirements have been satisfied Implement creativity and flexibility in daily activities by relying on experience and judgement to plan and accomplish goals Assist less-experienced engineers through technical direction and oversight At ASI, we understand that everyones journey is different. Requirements

  • Bachelors degree in engineering from an accredited college or university
  • Aerospace, aerodynamics, electrical, or mechanical preferred
  • 4-8 years of work experience as an in-service support engineer or liaison/MRO propulsion engineer
  • Knowledge of engine systems, or the ability to interpret theory of operation instructions to learn unfamiliar areas of the propulsion system
  • Experience with engine technical publications
  • Experience with maintenance and repair practices used in the aerospace industry
  • Effective verbal and written communication skills
  • Self-motivated and able to work independently
  • Must be a U.S. Citizen and qualify for Secret Clearance

Nice To Haves

  • Masters degree in engineering
  • Experience with Naval In-service Engineering practices and processes
  • Experience working with turboprop/turboshaft engines
  • Firm understanding of the U.S. Navy Aviation Maintenance Program (NAMP)
  • Familiarity with military aircraft and engine logbooks, maintenance manuals, overhaul manuals, and technical directives
  • Experience with FAA airworthiness directives
  • Experience with NAVAIR engineering and reporting procedures
