Junior Project Manager – Public Safety Solutions

Parsons CorporationSan Diego, CA
$74,800 - $130,900

About The Position

Parsons is looking for a driven, detail-oriented Junior Project Manager to join our Public Safety team in San Diego. You'll own the day-to-day execution of critical technology projects — think mission-critical communications systems, public safety networks, and 9-1-1 infrastructure — that directly support first responders and the communities they serve. This isn't a "task tracker" role. You'll be the connective tissue between our clients, our delivery teams, and Parsons leadership — keeping projects on time, on scope, and on budget while building lasting client relationships.

Requirements

  • 3+ years of experience in project, portfolio, or program management
  • Strong communicator — written, verbal, and in the room with clients
  • Organized, proactive, and comfortable managing multiple moving parts simultaneously

Nice To Haves

  • Experience with Motorola radio systems and/or MPLS networking is a strong plus — this is a public safety tech environment and that knowledge translates fast
  • Bachelor's degree preferred

  • Manage day-to-day project operations including scope, schedule, issues, and risks
  • Ensure all project documentation is complete, current, and properly archived

  • Serve as the primary client communication point from internal kickoff through final sign-off
  • Set and actively manage client expectations throughout the project lifecycle
  • Facilitate weekly internal and external status meetings — and make them worth attending
  • Manage change orders so that any scope deviation is documented and signed off — no surprises
  • Identify resource needs and coordinate responsibilities across cross-functional teams
  • Keep the project team informed and aligned on changes, priorities, and deadlines
  • Review team deliverables before they reach the client — quality is your call to make
  • Motivate and support team members to perform at their best
  • Track actual work performed against contracted scope
  • Ensure invoicing is submitted accurately and on time against agreed milestones
  • Follow up on outstanding invoices as needed
  • Analyze project profitability and flag trends early
