This position is responsible for providing administrative and paralegal support throughout the lifecycle of assigned estate and trust files. This includes intake, document review, ongoing monitoring, annual file reviews, correspondence, and closure activities. The role involves organizing and maintaining confidential legacy files and department databases, assisting with reviewing legal documents to identify The Salvation Army’s potential interest, and preparing routine correspondence, legal requisitions, Board of Trustee materials, workflow steps, and other required documentation. The Junior Probate Paralegal will also conduct basic legal research under supervision and support legacy-related litigation activities, such as deadline tracking, court calendars, document collection, discovery support, subpoena responses, trial materials, invoice tracking, and coordination with outside counsel and internal divisions. This role serves as a point of contact for general inquiries regarding estate, trust, and legacy matters, escalating complex issues as needed. Additionally, the position will assist with special projects, including Legal Tracker uploads, project tracking, document routing, and file-management initiatives. The ideal candidate is highly organized, comfortable with confidential information, and capable of managing multiple files, deadlines, and priorities accurately and professionally. Strong written communication, legal research, records management, technology, and customer service skills are essential. The candidate should embrace teamwork and be receptive to guidance from management.
