About The Position

You will be joining our North America Contracts team (US and Canada). Carta Law is the largest AI-native law firm for private capital, born from the combination of Avantia Law and Carta. As a Junior Paralegal, you will rotate across or specialize within one of three practice areas depending on your strengths and interests. As a Junior Paralegal, you'll work to: Support lawyers with first-round markups of investment-related NDAs and commercial contracts Manage document lifecycles, track deadlines, communicate with counterparties, and assist with execution Work closely with lawyers and senior paralegals, contributing to high-quality client delivery across fast-moving, high-volume matters Build commercial and legal expertise over time, with opportunities to take ownership of client accounts

Requirements

  • 0-1+ years of experience (internship experience) with a bachelor's degree in law or equivalent is preferred
  • Eager to learn and grow. You are motivated, curious, and excited to develop expertise in legal practice – whether that is compliance, contracts, or funds
  • Organized and efficient. You prioritize well, manage competing deadlines, and keep matters moving without losing attention to detail
  • A strong communicator. You write and speak clearly and professionally, understanding that our clients expect crisp, concise advice
  • A self-starter. You take initiative, work independently when needed, and proactively flag issues before they become problems
  • A team player. You collaborate effectively with lawyers, senior paralegals, and client-facing teams across a fast-paced environment
