About The Position

Mission Driven Research is seeking a Systems Engineer to participate in analysis of future Missile Defense System (MDS) architectures and concepts, and in modeling and simulation (M&S) tool development to support architecture assessment. The role assesses MDS capability gaps, challenges, needs, and opportunities against current and future threats to develop potential architecture solutions that mitigate gaps or improve performance. It also supports analysis planning and execution, assessment of simulation results, and M&S efforts to tailor tools to specific analysis plans.

Requirements

• Active Secret clearance.
• Ability to obtain a TS/SCI clearance.
• Bachelor's degree and at least 3 years of experience in missile defense-related work or on another complex, large DoD program or project.
• Basic understanding of the current MDS architecture and future concepts.
• Some experience in modeling, assessment, and evaluation of future missile defense architectures.
• Basic skills in interpreting results and presenting findings clearly.
• Ability to communicate effectively verbally and in writing, and collaborate with others to achieve objectives.
• Strong time management skills and ability to prioritize tasks by importance and urgency.

Nice To Haves

• Active TS/SCI clearance.
• Experience with AFSIM or similar MDS simulation tools or frameworks.
• Background in IAMD or Cruise Missile Defense systems.
• Background or experience with space systems.
• Experience defining and using advanced concepts and algorithms for M&S of MDS architectures.
• Experience supporting systems engineering-related architecture design activities.

Responsibilities

• Assess missile defense system capability gaps, challenges, needs, and opportunities against current and future threats, and develop potential architecture solutions to mitigate gaps or improve performance.
• Assist in developing analysis plans, execute MDS simulation tools, post-process and assess analysis results, and prepare architecture analysis briefs and reports.
• Support modeling and simulation efforts, including tailoring tools to specific analysis plans.
