About The Position

Mission Driven Research (MDR) is seeking a Senior Systems Engineer to lead or participate in analysis of future Missile Defense System (MDS) architectures and concepts, and in modeling and simulation (M&S) tool development supporting architecture assessment. The role focuses on evaluating capability gaps and developing architecture solutions, as well as planning and executing analyses and communicating findings.

Requirements

• Active Secret clearance.
• Ability to obtain a TS/SCI clearance.
• Master's degree with 12 or more years of experience in missile defense-related work or another complex, large DoD program or project, or a bachelor's degree with 20 or more years of experience.
• Solid understanding of the current MDS architecture and future concepts.
• Experience in modeling, assessment, and evaluation of future missile defense architectures.
• Strong skill in interpreting results and presenting findings clearly.
• Excellent verbal and written communication skills and ability to collaborate with others to achieve objectives.
• Strong time-management skills and ability to assess tasks based on importance and urgency.

Nice To Haves

• Active TS/SCI clearance.
• Experience with AFSIM or similar MDS simulation tools or frameworks.
• Background in IAMD/Cruise Missile Defense systems.
• Background or experience with space systems.
• Experience defining and using advanced concepts and algorithms for M&S of MDS architectures.
• Experience supporting systems engineering-related architecture design activities.

Responsibilities

• Assess missile defense system capability gaps, challenges, needs, and opportunities against current and future threats to develop potential architecture solutions that mitigate gaps or improve performance.
• Assist in developing analysis plans, execute MDS simulation tools, post-process and assess analysis results, and prepare architecture analysis briefs and reports.
• Support modeling and simulation efforts related to architecture analysis, tailoring tools to specific analysis plans.
