About The Position

APEX TK is seeking a Systems Engineer to participate in analysis of future Missile Defense System (MDS) architectures and concepts and support modeling and simulation (M&S) tool development for architecture assessment. The role involves assessing capability gaps and developing potential architecture solutions, supporting analysis planning and execution, and evaluating and communicating analysis results.

Requirements

• Active Secret clearance.
• Ability to obtain a TS/SCI clearance.
• Bachelor’s degree in a STEM or related field, or equivalent work experience meeting applicable guidelines.
• At least 2 years of related professional experience.
• Basic understanding of the current MDS architecture and future concepts.
• Some experience in modeling, assessment, and evaluation of future missile defense architectures.
• Basic skills in interpreting results and presenting findings clearly.
• Effective verbal and written communication skills and ability to collaborate with others to achieve objectives.
• Strong time-management skills and ability to assess tasks by importance and urgency.

Nice To Haves

• Bachelor’s degree with at least 3 years of experience in missile defense-related work or another complex, large DoD program or project.
• Active TS/SCI clearance.
• Experience with AFSIM or similar MDS simulation tools or frameworks.
• Background in IAMD or Cruise Missile Defense systems.
• Background or experience with space systems.
• Experience defining and using advanced concepts and algorithms for M&S of MDS architectures.
• Experience supporting systems engineering-related architecture design activities.

Responsibilities

• Assess missile defense system capability gaps, challenges, needs, and opportunities against current and future threats to develop potential architecture solutions that mitigate gaps or improve performance.
• Assist in developing analysis plans, executing MDS simulation tools, post-processing and assessing analysis results, and preparing architecture analysis briefs and reports.
• Support M&S efforts to tailor tools to specific analysis plans.
