About The Position

Intertek is seeking a Junior Metallurgist to join their Minerals team in Tucson, AZ. This role involves working on Mineral Processing projects, with a focus on copper and precious metals Heap Leach and base metal flotation. Experience in operations and metallurgical testing is beneficial. The company, Intertek Minerals, provides geochemical assay and testing services, minerals inspection and trade services to support the minerals and mining supply chain globally.

Requirements

• Bachelor’s degree in Mineral Processing, Extractive Metallurgy or Chemical Engineering
• Metallurgical testing in a laboratory setting is required
• Demonstrated leadership skills
• Good communication skills with well-developed written and oral skills
• 3 years experience in Flotation and Leaching

Nice To Haves

• Experience with copper and precious metals Heap Leach and base metal flotation
• Experience in operations and metallurgical testing
• Three years of experience in mineral processing; gold or copper processing preferred

Responsibilities

• Supervise and manage metallurgical resources (equipment and technicians) to ensure metallurgical tests are performed: safely, accurately and on schedule
• Assist with set-up and layout of facility
• Interpret metallurgical test work results
• Liaise with clients to ensure their objectives are met
• Prepare quotations and proposal based on client needs
