About The Position
The Junior Metallurgist will be working on Mineral Processing projects and will have experience with copper and precious metals Heap Leach and base metal flotation. Experience in operations and metallurgical testing will be well suited for this role. This position outline is a general guideline and does not represent all encompassing details. The position assumes that the incumbent has both the mental and physical requirements to carry out the above defined duties.
Requirements
- Bachelor’s degree in Mineral Processing, Extractive Metallurgy or Chemical Engineering
- Metallurgical testing in a laboratory setting is required
- Demonstrated leadership skills
- Good communication skills with well-developed written and oral skills
- 3 years experience in Flotation and Leaching
Nice To Haves
- Three years of experience in mineral processing; gold or copper processing preferred
Responsibilities
- Supervise and manage metallurgical resources (equipment and technicians) to ensure metallurgical tests are performed: safely, accurately and on schedule
- Assist with set-up and layout of facility
- Interpret metallurgical test work results
- Liaise with clients to ensure their objectives are met
- Prepare quotations and proposal based on client needs
