About The Position
Pario Engineering & Environmental Sciences LP is seeking a Junior Mechanical Engineer to join their Collision Reconstruction Team in Toronto, ON. This hybrid role involves investigating motor vehicle collisions, completing reconstructions using simulations and evidence evaluation, and analyzing incident liability. The position also includes assessments of pedestrian slips, trips, and falls. The successful candidate will perform site visits, take measurements, collect vehicle data, survey scenes, run analyses, and write reports. Some business development will also be required. Pario is a niche forensic engineering, environmental science, and remediation consulting firm serving insurance and risk management clients across Canada.
Requirements
- Bachelor’s Degree in Mechanical Engineering or similar.
- Graduate degrees are welcome.
- Licensure in a provincial Engineering Association, or ability to become licensed.
- Valid G license.
- Ability to work in remote areas.
- Ability to work in a range of temperatures and weather conditions.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
- Good command of the English language.

- Familiarity with PC Crash.
Responsibilities
- Download vehicle diagnostic trouble codes, event data recorder data, and telematics data.
- Conduct vehicle examinations (automobile, motorcycle, heavy truck, off-road), assess and measure exterior damage, examine vehicle restraint systems, and acquire fluid and paint samples.
- Coordinate and potentially attend site investigations, including photography, measuring, and digital surveying.
- Utilize test equipment for site investigations such as brake testing, curve acceleration testing, visibility (day/night) testing, and slip-testing equipment.
- Analyze acquired vehicle data to understand driver and vehicle behaviors related to collisions.
- Learn and apply computerized tools for collision investigation, including video analysis and collision simulation.
- Develop reports concerning SIU investigations and liability investigations for insurance and legal clients.
