The position will develop experience in the following areas: · Power generation, oil and gas facilities, gas compression, pipelines, and more · ASME B31.1, ASME B31.3, B31.4 and B31.8 · Creation of P&IDs · HAZOPs or PHAs · Material selection · Sizing and specifying mechanical equipment · Working with lead engineer · Calculation checking and other design tasks · Conducting facility process surveys, determine bottlenecks, make recommendations to remedy the bottlenecks · Performing basic checks like found in API RP 14C and 14E · Creating construction scopes of work · Working with piping designers to develop drawing deliverables and bills of materials · Working with and coordinating other disciplines to support the project requirements · Creating and maintaining project status reports · Maintaining budgets and schedules

Requirements

  • Zero to five years of experience
  • Bachelor’s degree in mechanical engineering
  • Knowledge of appropriate software
  • Ability to communicate effectively, verbally, and writing to a diversely educated audience
  • Skilled in following safety practices and recognizing hazards
  • Strong interpersonal and communication skills
  • Professional and detail oriented
  • Ability to self-direct and finish work

Nice To Haves

  • Registered Professional Engineer or EIT (eventual PE licensing is expected)
  • Field or shop experience

Responsibilities

  • Develop experience in power generation, oil and gas facilities, gas compression, pipelines, and more
  • Work with ASME B31.1, ASME B31.3, B31.4 and B31.8 standards
  • Create P&IDs
  • Participate in HAZOPs or PHAs
  • Perform material selection
