About The Position

This position will support our joint venture with partner company, Dayton Group Inc. (DGI). DGI-ATI (JV) has an immediate full time opening for a junior-level Industrial Hygienist (IH). This IH position will be part of a team on a Federal contract in Washington, DC and the surrounding area. Candidates must have a clear financial background and no criminal history. A previously held CAC and/or security clearance for government work is a strong plus.

Requirements

  • U.S. Citizenship, Clean credit and no criminal history.
  • Able to crawl, climb over obstacles, walk on uneven surfaces such as ramps, rooftops and able to climb ladders without assistance.
  • Able to enter confined space or work on high-elevation task locations.
  • BS or advanced degree in engineering, science, or other related discipline from an accredited university.
  • Asbestos Inspector Certification/License
  • Three (3) years directly related experience. Or two (2) years directly related experience with an advanced degree and applicable board certification.

Nice To Haves

  • Prefer to have had a federal CAC in recent past.
  • Able to achieve a government clearance if and when requested.

Responsibilities

  • Build and maintain relationships with Team Members, Client Representatives, and other Parties that convey trust, confidence, and respect.
  • Ability to be trained to support health and safety within offices, facilities, maintenance, and construction environments.
  • Able to work independently or within a team group, and complete tasks in a timely manner.
  • Perform Indoor Air Quality investigations – Select the proper monitoring equipment and respond to various types of concerns such as comfort (temperature and relative humidity); various chemical, burning, and sewer odors; moisture/mold etc.
  • Assist with design, and performance of industrial hygiene field studies related to worker exposures, including, but not limited to, air and noise sampling, area noise, illumination, ventilation surveys, IAQ, ergonomic studies, radiation, heat stress, and other studies.
  • Generate accurate field notes on activities performed by workers being monitored and/or maintain daily log of activities related to project work.
  • Perform water quality sampling.
  • Conduct office safety inspections and eventually take part in industrial area inspections.
  • Complete data sheets, chain of custody forms, coordinate shipping, prepare samples for shipment to laboratory, and ensure supply stocks are adequate.
  • Deliver clear, concise verbal and written communication about an issue, including recommendations based on findings.
  • Initiate follow-up on issues to ensure compliance.
  • Prepare final reports in Client format including proper references, concise descriptions of findings and results, data tables and interpretation of results, drawings, and provide recommendations; all with little to no corrections. Reports must be technically accurate, grammatically correct, and appropriate for intended audience.
  • Peer review reports for grammatical and technical accuracy.
  • Maintain excel databases and analyze data statistics.
  • Operate and maintain instruments including sampling pumps, calibrators, noise dosimeters, sound level meters, and direct reading gas meters.
  • Assist with equipment and electronics inventories, calibration, coordination, and shipping.
  • Conduct technical research and assist with environmental health & safety audits.
  • Submit administrative paperwork (timesheet, expenses, field reports, etc.) is a timely manner.
  • Develop comfort in performing health and safety training.
