About The Position

Legacy Traditional Schools is seeking passionate Junior High Teachers for various subjects across West Valley locations. This role offers the opportunity to change lives through education by developing skilled readers, writers, listeners, and speakers, or by guiding students to understand mathematical concepts, construct scientific knowledge through investigation, or explore world and U.S. history and geography. Teachers will implement engaging instructional activities, identify and modify resources to meet diverse student needs, utilize direct instruction, and assess curricular needs. Responsibilities include maintaining records, communicating effectively with students, parents, and professionals, collaborating with peers, modeling professional and ethical standards, ensuring student growth, participating in training and staff meetings, and meeting professional obligations. Teachers will also evaluate student capabilities, celebrate accomplishments, and encourage students to uphold values and model good character. The role involves light physical activity, including sitting, standing, moving around campus, and occasional travel between campuses. Other duties as assigned.

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree.
  • Valid SEI Endorsement/Certification or ability to obtain.
  • Pass a criminal history background check.

  • A current teaching certificate from within the state position is located.

Responsibilities

  • Implement instructional activities that contribute to a climate where students are actively engaged in meaningful learning experiences.
  • Identify, select, and modify instructional resources to meet the needs of the students with varying backgrounds, learning styles, and special needs.
  • Utilize direct instruction techniques to guide our students through a variety of activities designed to promote the social, physical and intellectual growth that is needed for primary school success!
  • Assist in assessing changing curricular needs and offers plans for improvement.
  • Maintain effective and efficient record keeping procedures.
  • Communicate effectively, both orally and in writing, with students, parents, and other professionals on a regular basis.
  • Collaborate with peers to enhance the instructional environment.
  • Model professional and ethical standards when dealing with students, parents, peers, and community.
  • Ensure that student growth and achievement is continuous and appropriate for age group, subject area, and/or program classification.
  • Participate in training and staff meetings.
  • Meet professional obligations through efficient work habits such as: meeting deadlines, honoring schedules and coordinating meetings as needed.
  • Evaluate each student’s learning capabilities and celebrate student accomplishments.
  • Encourage students to uphold our values and model mature behavior and good character in the classroom, on the school campus, and throughout their lives.
  • Be active in the role when light lifting, sitting, standing, moving throughout the campus and traveling to other campuses as required.
  • Participate in events outside of normal hours.
  • Other duties as assigned.
