About The Position

SAIC is seeking a Junior Hardware Engineer to support our team located in Huntsville, AL. The Junior Hardware Engineer will be responsible for translating client business requirements into specific system, application, and process designs for complex integrated solutions. This role involves supporting the development of system architectures and architecture baselines, assisting in the development of integration and migration plans, schedules, and technical roadmaps, and contributing to transition planning activities. The engineer will participate in the integration of systems and subsystems, ensuring interoperability across multiple platforms and environments, and support business process improvements and systems analysis for mission, system, and fiscal requirements. Additionally, the role requires acting as an advocate for the client’s needs within the technical team, assisting with oversight of the production and deployment of integrated systems (which may include work at customer sites), and supporting ISR and C4ISR programs, clients, or systems as required. The engineer will perform routine technical analyses, document technical findings, design decisions, and integration approaches, and collaborate with supervisors, project leads, and team members to accomplish assigned tasks according to detailed instructions and schedules.

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree in Engineering, Computer Science, Information Systems, or a related technical discipline and zero (0) years’ experience
  • Must possess an active Secret security clearance with the ability to maintain; US Citizenship required.
  • Basic understanding of systems integration concepts, including interfaces, data flows, and interoperability.
  • Limited but growing use of technical principles, theories, and concepts in systems engineering or systems integration.
  • Ability to analyze routine technical problems and apply standard procedures to develop solutions.
  • Ability to interpret and work from detailed technical instructions, tasking, and requirements.
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills with attention to detail.

Nice To Haves

  • Familiarity with system or enterprise architecture concepts (e.g., baselines, transition states, migration planning) is preferred.

Responsibilities
