About The Position

SAIC is seeking a Junior Hardware Engineer to support our team located in Huntsville, AL. The Junior Hardware Engineer will be responsible for translating client business requirements into specific system, application, and process designs for complex integrated solutions. This role involves supporting the development of system architectures and architecture baselines to address client business and mission needs, as well as assisting in the development of integration and migration plans, schedules, and technical roadmaps. The engineer will contribute to transition planning activities, including analysis of operational, intelligence, and information requirements, and participate in the integration of systems and subsystems, ensuring interoperability across multiple platforms and environments. Additionally, the role supports business process improvements and systems analysis for mission, system, and fiscal requirements, acting as an advocate for the client’s needs within the technical team to ensure solutions align with business objectives. Assistance with oversight of the production and deployment of integrated systems, which may include work at customer sites, and support for ISR and C4ISR programs, clients, or systems are also key responsibilities. The engineer will perform routine technical analyses by following established standards, practices, and procedures, and document technical findings, design decisions, and integration approaches in clear, concise artifacts. Collaboration with immediate supervisors, project leads, and other team members to accomplish assigned tasks, and execution of assigned tasks according to detailed instructions, meeting established objectives and schedules, are expected.

Requirements

Bachelor’s degree in Engineering, Computer Science, Information Systems, or a related technical discipline and zero (0) years’ experience
Must possess an active Secret security clearance with the ability to maintain
US Citizenship required
Basic understanding of systems integration concepts, including interfaces, data flows, and interoperability.
Limited but growing use of technical principles, theories, and concepts in systems engineering or systems integration.
Ability to analyze routine technical problems and apply standard procedures to develop solutions.
Ability to interpret and work from detailed technical instructions, tasking, and requirements.
Strong analytical and problem-solving skills with attention to detail.

Nice To Haves

Familiarity with system or enterprise architecture concepts (e.g., baselines, transition states, migration planning) is preferred.
