About The Position

The Junior Graphic Designer is responsible for producing high-quality visual content that supports the college’s mission, student recruitment efforts, and campus-wide communications. Working under the guidance of senior creative staff, this position will translate concepts into engaging designs for print, digital, and social media platforms, ensuring all work adheres to the college’s official brand guidelines.

Requirements

  • Minimum of an Associate’s degree in Digital Media, Graphic Design, Marketing, or a related field.
  • Proficiency in Adobe Creative Cloud (InDesign, Illustrator, Photoshop) and Microsoft Suite.
  • A strong portfolio demonstrating a solid understanding of layout, typography, and color theory.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills, with the ability to take constructive feedback professionally.

Nice To Haves

  • Experience working within an educational or non-profit setting.
  • Familiarity with ADA accessibility standards for web and digital design (essential for public institutions).

Responsibilities

  • Develops digital assets for the college website and social media platforms (e.g., Instagram, Facebook, LinkedIn) to enhance online visibility and promote student engagement.
  • Plans, designs, and produces visually engaging print and digital materials—including brochures, flyers, posters, campus signage, and advertisements—that support College programs, events, and promotional initiatives.
  • Maintains consistent application of the college’s brand identity across all media by adhering to approved visual standards, including logos, typography, and color palettes.
  • Works collaboratively with the Communications and Marketing team, as well as College faculty and staff, to execute design solutions that effectively convey departmental and institutional messages and that meet specific project objectives.
  • Organizes and maintains the department’s digital asset library, including photography, icons, and archived project files, ensuring accessibility, accuracy, and version control.
  • Assist in preparing print-ready files and coordinate with approved locally based Tennessee printing vendors to ensure quality production and timely project delivery.
  • May perform other duties as assigned.
